Counseling to Navigate the Twists and Turns

Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my! Here are some of the challenges we can help you navigate

Anxiety

Anxiety

Many people experience anxiety, in fact, anxiety disorders are the world’s most common mental disorders. You may notice you worry about things more than your peers and often go to worst-case scenarios in your mind. Maybe you replay the past and try to plan out the future and it’s difficult for that to slow down. It may feel difficult to wind down, relax, or sleep when you so often experience such overwhelm. We are here to help you feel more grounded by offering you tools for regulation, as well as understanding root causes. Even going to therapy is anxiety inducing, but we do our best to make the first steps as easy as possible.

Depression

Depression

Feeling like you’re trudging through the mud just to do what other people do with ease everyday? Getting up, showering, working, and relationships can all feel like too much. We can meet you wherever you are with compassion, and give you tools to help trudge through the mud with more ease. We can make the burden a little lighter.

Trauma

Trauma

We assess all clients for trauma in a safe way and at their own pace. Getting into things from your past that have caused fear, shame, guilt, or grief is something that happens gently and slowly. Many people find they have a core belief about themselves that came from their history; “I’m unsafe” “I’m bad” “I have to perfect” “I’m not good enough.” We help you find your many strengths and abilities that have helped you through it all. We never try to rush healing. Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) may be an option for you.

ADHD

ADHD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is a disorder affecting how the brain works, making it difficult to control or regulate attention. We offer diagnostic assessments and work alongside medication prescribers to provide you with ways to manage symptoms and feel more focused and grounded in life.

Relationship Issues

Relationship Issues

Relationships are complex, and can bring out our past emotional wounds in really big ways. While we do teach communication and boundary skills to individual clients, we also offer you tools in real time with couples sessions. You can expect to really hear each other and also be heard and seen. You can learn to navigate conflicts in a whole new way that allows you to stay connected and make changes moving forward.

Young Adult/College Mental Health

Young Adult/College Mental Health

There can be a harsh shift from high school to college or the workfield. Suddenly you are responsible for so much more, all while trying to make some of life’s biggest decisions. While you're juggling how to navigate the work place, go to classes, buy your own groceries, cook meals, make and keep friends…you’re also deciding which career you want to pursue, which relationships you want to pursue, and how you want to establish yourself. That’s a lot. And it’s ok to feel like you’re crashing out. We are here with you to reassure and help align your big decisions with your values.
